Comfortable and safe care during your stay at the surgical center

When you arrive at the center you will be greeted by our admitting staff who will assist you with registration. (You may also pre-register securely on line by visiting www.TresantiSurgery.com.) You will then be escorted to the pre-operative area where a nurse will complete the process. At this time, you will change into a hospital gown. Here you will meet your anesthesiologist (if applicable) and your operating room nurse who will escort you to the operating room.

Surgery and other outpatient procedures can certainly be stressful. Many patients seek the support of several friends and family when undergoing these procedures. At The Tresanti Surgical Center, we are dedicated to providing the latest and up to date, yet economical environment for you to receive such care. As such, there is little space to accommodate people other than those undergoing procedures. Our staff would be happy to provide you a list of local restaurants or shopping areas for your support to wait while you undergo your care. We will also provide you with a pager to notify them when it is time to pick you up, or we would be happy to contact you via your cell phone.

After surgery you will be taken to the recovery room where you will stay until you are awake and able to go home. At that time you will dress and receive instructions regarding your care, diet, and activity at home. You will then be escorted by wheel chair to your waiting transportation.

Relax at home. Remember that it is normal to feel sleepy or experience nausea or dizziness after surgery. If you have general anesthesia we strongly recommend that you refrain from driving or drinking alcoholic beverages for 24 hours, and that a responsible adult stay with you overnight. If you experience problems after you arrive home, please notify your surgeon.

A surgery center nurse will call you a day or two after surgery to check your progress and to answer any questions you may have concerning your recovery.
